IX. The Origin of the Kay Uñgulan Mountain:
KAY UÑGULAN MOUNTAIN
This spot is found in the northern part of the town. There was an old incident that happened in this place. It is said that a big tree grew in this place. So, men from Morong went to the place to cut the tree, to be sculpted as the big statue of "Mahal na Señor." It is said that when the men were cutting the tree, they could hear a loud noise from the spot. From that time, the place was called "Kay Uñgulan."
Near this place is a cave often visited by people who went to Antipolo in the month of May. It is said that the cave looked like a church inside. That for the sake of souvenirs, the people who entered the cave wrote their names on the walls. The writings were made only with charcoal. Believe or not, there are writings that last for about a hundred years in spite of the fact that they were written only with charcoal. No other lights can be used inside this cave but candles.

During the time when the people of the town believed in superstitions, these things truly happened. That when the days were rainy and the people heard the band music, for sure the days would be sunny. Then, when the days were always sunny and if the same band of music could be heard, then the days would be rainy. Now, because of the people of the town have shown progress, there is cave of this belief. [This previous sentence does not make sense.] In this spot, the stones are all very white. Even if you are in the far distance, you can see the white stones very distinctly in spite of the fact that the place is covered with grasses and trees that are forever green.
THE MYSTERY OF ST. ROSE DE LIMA
In the year 1902, the 11th day of June — During this time, when the Americans and the Filipinos were still enemies, there were four American convoys [the previous word does not seem to be the appropriate one] held as prisoners by the Filipino insurrectos of Teresa. They were brought to Buhañgin. The other Americans knew this, and they made a great search for them until they saw in one spot the four Americans dead and buried. The graves were very shallow. After this discovery, the people of the town were in great trouble. They made an order to kill every inhabitant of the town. Before the order, anybody who was suspected was tortured with the hope that the truth would be squealed. When the order was to be executed, the American who made the order saw, on the church of Teresa, a big light and, because of this light, the American who made the order to kill all the people changed his mind. He told all his soldiers to go back to Morong. So, the people were safe.
